Multilicence and work with the program in computer networks

The multilicence version may be used both in separate computers and in computers connected in a network. All multilicence versions may be purchased for special prices. If the programs are used in a single site (single address), the price is a bit better than for a licence valid for more sites. You get the best price for a so-called unlimited licence for the whole organization. For detailed information on each multilicence type price see List of prices.htm.

Multilicence types:

The PC Translator is also programmed for network operation - i.e. one installation may be installed in a shared directory, and all holders of the access right to this directory may simultaneously start up both the translator and the dictionary, and, at the same time, edit the vocabulary (if editing is prohibited by the dictionary manager). The most frequent utilization of program sharing in larger companies is sharing the separate dictionary. Using the shared version for translations using tools integrated in other applications (Internet Explorer, MS Word, MS Outlook...) is theoretically possible. With regard to the speed and certain complexity we recommend using local applications for translations of whole texts. The program may be installed arbitrarily (local, network, or combination) up to total multilicence size - i.e. ML30 may be installed e.g. for 20 network users + 10 local PCs. Especially with minor licences it is (with regard to higher user comfort) better to install the programs locally in separate computers.

Usability of the PC Translator in networks is generally independent of the network type. If the network is available for users, i.e. the user has access rights for reading at least (editing is not one of the conditions), it is possible to use the PC Translator in the network.

The number of terminals from which the directory is available may not exceed the licence size. (The calculation of multilicence price is based on the number of fixed set computers that have access rights to the given directory; the number of users simultaneously using the program is therefore irrelevant. Access rights are assigned by the network administrator, who is also responsible for the fact that the number of terminals out of which the shared directory will be available will not exceed the licence size.) 

Notes:
The licence size shall comply with the number of computers that offer access to the program. For more users the price is nevertheless very advantageous, see the List of prices, so that e.g. for 100 PCs the price only represents ten times the amount of the basic price (for usage in one locality).

If the network exceeds the licence size, the network administrator has to adjust the network access rights for the directory with the shared installation just to the number of users that fits the licence size.

The so-called dynamic calculation of the licence size - according to the number of users connected to the dictionary at a time, is not utilized purposely, and would not be more advantageous in any case than the three calculation versions we use in our dictionary. With network usage, which is necessary for the control of users with a floating dynamic licence, it would also be impossible to count licences installed individually in manager’s PCs, in laptops that are not connected to the network, etc. Individual installation is, with respect to translation speed, quite the best for online website translation, longer texts, etc. Compared to a separate PC Translator that is often shared by many users in companies, the text translation is substantially more demanding in terms of the speed. For the translation of each individual sentence the program accesses the dictionary up to 100 times.
• The number of users is therefore calculated as an aggregate of individual and network computers (with network installations, all end computers out of which the program is accessible are counted).

In companies with more than 100 employers, currently the most popular is the so-called Unlimited multilicence calculated according to the total number of employers in the organization. Progression is by far the most preferable, and no check of the number of licences in the company is necessary. The other 2 calculations - i.e. for the given number of installations in place, or without site limitation, may be interesting as an economical solution.

Examples of extensions and multilicence upgrade:

The given examples apply to multilicences for 1 site, the calculation for more sites being similar. Within the framework of upgrade and licence extension, arbitrary changes of licence type are possible. E.g. from one user licence it is possible to perform an upgrade to an arbitrary multilicence, from a multilicence for a single site you may make a multilicence for more sites, or an unlimited licence, etc. We will also help you with the price calculation in various versions (info@langsoft.cz).

If you purchase e.g. PC Translator ML10 and already have the PC Translator in its latest version, we will change it for a multilicence version with an additional fee. E.g. when purchasing PC Translator ML10, where the fee is PRICE x 4, you only pay PRICE x 3, because you have already paid for one.

If you already have single-user PC Translator of an older version, we will perform the UPGRADE + extension to a multilicence version for 10 users for 950 CZK (1 x price for UPGRADE) + PRICE x 3.

You may also extend the licences gradually. Provided that you already have PC Translator ML4, i.e. a multilicence for four users in the latest version, we will replace it for a larger multilicence version for an additional fee. E.g. with PC Translator ML7, where the fee is PRICE x 3, you only pay PRICE x 1, because you have already paid for two.

If you already have an older version , e.g. PC Translator ML4, the cost of UPGRADE + extension to ML7:  2 x 950 (price for UPGRADE) + PRICE x 1.

Language Teacher:

The Program Language Teacher may also be purchased in a multilicence version (the price is substantially more advantageous than with a larger number of single-user versions). The program is programmed, the same as the PC Translator, also for network operation - i.e. one installation may be installed in a shared directory, and all access right holders may start it simultaneously (including sound files sharing).
